Alex Lim

Locum Counsellor

Alex Lim is a locum counsellor at WE CARE. He is also a counsellor at Insight Therapy Services and an associate lecturer at Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS). Additionally, he provides clinical supervision for counselling trainees and new counsellors. Previously, Alex worked as a counsellor at National Addictions Management Services (NAMS) which is part of Institute of Mental Health (IMH).

He holds a Master of Counselling from Monash University and a Bachelor of Social Sciences (Psychology) from the National University of Singapore. Alex is a Certified Substance Abuse Counsellor (CSAC) and a Certified Gambling Addiction Counsellor (CGAC) with the Association of Professionals Specialising in Addiction Counselling (APSAC). He is also a Certified Self-Management Recovery Training (SMART) Facilitator and a Family and Friends (F&F) Facilitator. Alex is a Professional Member of both APSAC and the Singapore Association for Counselling (SAC).

Alex specialises in working with individuals facing various forms of addiction, particularly focusing on behavioral addictions such as gambling, gaming, and sex. He also provides counselling for ADHD as part of managing co-occurring disorders and has conducted therapy groups for clients dealing with gambling issues.
