I came to WE CARE in 2019 trying to recover from my addiction issues.
I did not know the cause of my underlying issues as I've swept them under the carpet over the years, which was why I suffered in pain and escapism till my counsellor unravelled them and processed them carefully.
WE CARE has always made me feel safe because the staff there are professionally trained and recovering members are always there to offer their experience, strength and hope with one another.
I was never happy or at peace because I was seeking perfection in life but today, I am living my imperfect life perfectly.
Would strongly recommend WE CARE to people who want to recover and have another shot in life.

WE CARE is where I have found my safe space, a place where I have friends and family. Where I have been given knowledge and tools to tackle most of the situations that I face. WE CARE has set me up for success in life - anything I need, I can consult them and ask for advice. WE CARE has a lot of programmes that have helped me over the years. I am really grateful for the staff at WE CARE.

When I first came to WE CARE in 2018, I was totally helpless and I had lost the direction in my life. I desperately needed help to fix my addiction issue.
WE CARE never rejected me for my gender identity and in fact, I have found my family by choice here. I was welcomed to the family and all the staff have supported me since then.
Today, I am back on track with my life and I have a job and a place to stay. Without WE CARE supporting me in my recovery, I will not be able to do it on my own.

I'm Din, and I have been addicted to hard drugs for a very long period of time. Came out of prison in 2018 and found the doors of WE CARE and met other like-minded people seeking help. I found that a new way of life is possible with the help of guides and people in WE CARE. I've got my life back on track and have never looked back. Moving forward in life and leading a very happy life now. Thank you all at WE CARE.

I was lost and I wanted desperate help to seek direction in life. I needed a way out of the hot mess I had gotten myself into and through the recommendation of a kindred spirit, I found WE CARE.
WE CARE has provided me with a safe space and a welcoming place I can truly call home. Days and months and years were spent visiting WE CARE and with the help of my counsellor and the WE CARE team, I managed to walk out of the darkest period of my life.
The programs that WE CARE offers are structured and it showed me that I can live a normal and happy life without the need for me to turn to addictive behaviours.
I am eternally grateful for the help that WE CARE rendered and the fervent support and resources that the team has provided for me in order to heal and recover. I thank everyone at WE CARE for always believing in me and never giving up on me.
I would highly recommend WE CARE to anyone who need helps dealing with their addictive behaviours. It works if you work it, and WE CARE is absolutely your best chance.

I am still imperfect, still vulnerable and prone to making mistakes like any newcomer but each baby step forward for me is a joy now. I will continue to soldier on, seeking progress and not perfection in life.
Thank you WE CARE for everything.

I did it this time! After 40 years of struggling with my addiction to drugs and alcohol, I am free today. WE CARE took me in and cared for me, when I could not do it for myself.
My second family gave me unconditional love, being patient and giving lots of encouragement. I learned from the counsellors and staff the tools I needed to deal with my addiction and life's challenges.
In the initial year of my recovery, I attended weekly counselling. I did not have to but I wanted to as I could see clearly how my life was coming back together once more.
I am convinced that anyone with any addiction issues can gain some form of assistance from the noble staff of WE CARE Community Services.

WE CARE gave me much more than I could ever give back.

Dropping in to WE CARE for lunch meetings and staying for counselling, music and art activities or simply hanging out in the lounge or garden in between meetings with people like me seeking a safe and non-judgemental community has been integral to my recovery. Thank you WE CARE!

One thing in WE CARE that really helps me is the family. Initially I felt uncomfortable as everyone was so close in the meetings. They talk so freely. And they were so warm. So different from what I am used to. Unreal. But then when I came back, I got to know Enid, Jess, Nudel, Gerald, Sharafat, Brenda, Fandi, Marla, Joyliss, Shobana and Roy, my hiking buddy. All these people helped me. And I kept coming back. I felt the love and the honesty when they shared, and that’s when I started to open up and to get counselling help at WE CARE ….

My name is Prince and I have been using drugs for 18 years. I had reached a stage where I could not manage my life anymore.
It was only when my last relationship did not work out, that I decided to stop using. It was then that my recovery peers recommended me to WE CARE and I thought, just give it a try.
So in 2019, I stepped into WE CARE and realized recovery is possible as long as I worked it. I was not being judged for being the minority community and my drug addiction. Staff made me feel at home and this enabled me to embark on my recovery journey.
It has been 2.5 years and my recovery journey continues. I would like to express my special thanks to everyone from WE CARE who have made this possible for me.

WE CARE provides great integrative care to those in need of recovery from addictive behaviours. The drop-in centre gives me the opportunity to mingle with like-minded individuals. The Recovery Support Group meetings such as NA and SMART recovery provides an avenue for me to share my pain with supportive people and learn ways to cope with difficult times. The individual counselling allows me to collaboratively work with my counsellor to develop positive changes. WE CARE activities such as artwork, hiking and mindfulness allows me to find healthy and fun ways to spend my time.
Kudos to the WE CARE staff for making all these possible and giving hope to me and the people in recovery. Thank you!
